Crestron at CEDIA Expo 2026: The Full Round Up for London Homes and Offices

Living room with a wall mounted TV on a dark slatted wall, a soundbar and a small touch screen on the shelving, the kind of room Crestron's CEDIA Expo 2026 releases are made for

Crestron used CEDIA Expo 2026, held in Denver from 1 to 4 September, to set out what it plans to release for homes before the end of the year, and two of its products won awards at the show. This round up lists what was shown, what has arrived since, and what a London home or office should plan for over the next six months.

What Crestron showed at CEDIA Expo 2026

CEDIA Expo is the annual trade show for the home technology industry in the United States. Commercial Integrator described the 2026 show as the 36th, with more than 300 brands. Rather than one headline launch, Crestron previewed a run of releases stretching to the end of the year, which Residential Systems reported on 10 September 2026 and updated on 23 September. The table sets that report beside what has happened since, with our own guide to each item.

Available now: Configure Pro, Multiview and Crestron Home OS 4.12

Configure Pro is the software an installer uses to set up a Crestron Home system. It launched on 30 June 2026 with Crestron Home 4.11, and Residential Systems listed it as available at the time of the show. Homeowners never open it.

Multiview was the first of the previewed features to arrive. Crestron announced Crestron Home OS 4.12 on 22 September 2026, and with it the ability to show up to six sources on one screen in fixed layouts, with up to 18 compositions recalled from the Crestron Home interface. It is built on the DM-NVX-384 or DM-NVX-385, which CE Pro calls the hardware foundation for Multiview. In a London media room that could be the match, the news and a camera on one screen; in a reception or a boardroom it is several live feeds on one display.

The release does more than Multiview. The What's New page of Crestron's Crestron Home OS manual lists, for 4.12, support for the two new DIN modules and the TSW-1580, light and dark themes in Configure Pro, and information on BACnet thermostats. Crestron's own post about the release also covers the Cameo dual dimmer, which it says provides two independent channels in a single gang box, and new tilt limit firmware for its Horizontal Sheer Shades. No ship date or voltage has been published for the dual dimmer, so we are not yet planning projects around it.

Arriving this autumn: a 15 inch touch screen, lighting modules and shade fabrics

The TSW-1580. Residential Systems listed the 80 Series touch screens as now available, with a 15 inch model expected in October 2026. On 2 October 2026 Crestron presented the TSW-1580 on its blog as the largest display in the 80 Series family. Crestron's catalogue says it is only compatible with PoE+, so the network port behind it has to supply that. Residential Systems also reports that future firmware will let the 8, 10 and 15 inch models be rotated to portrait. Crestron's post gave no price or shipping date.

The DIN-8SWU8 and DIN-4DIMU4. These are a universal switch with up to eight channels and a universal dimmer with four, both for the lighting panel. Residential Systems says they "replace multiple legacy devices and reduce panel sizes by half", and lists them as expected in October 2026. As of 9 October we have seen no launch announcement from Crestron and no published load ratings. A smaller panel matters in London, where space for a lighting panel is usually tight.

Roller shade fabrics. Residential Systems reports a refreshed roller shade fabric collection: eight new fabric collections with Designer and Heritage families, in sheer, light filtering and blackout options. If you are choosing blinds for a project that completes next year, it may be worth seeing the new samples first.

Two awards at the show

The winners of the CEDIA Smart Home Awards for the Americas were celebrated at a ceremony during the show. CE Pro's list of winners, published on 8 September 2026, names Crestron twice: Configure Pro is one of three Best New Software winners, and the Cevo Mini Remote is one of eleven Best New Hardware winners.

Also from the show: AI assisted setup and a smart shower

Two items from the trade press sit outside Crestron's own list. CE Pro's report on the trends of the show, published on 10 September 2026, says Crestron previewed an AI assisted mode inside Configure Pro, arriving in early 2027. It is a tool for installers, not something a homeowner will use directly. On a panel at the show, reported by CE Pro on 16 September, Michael Short of Crestron looked further ahead: "Systems are going to self-heal and AI again is going to help them actually figure out how to do service".

The same trends report says Kohler's Anthem+ smart shower now connects directly into platforms including Crestron. If a bathroom refit is on your list, ask us before the plumbing goes in whether the shower you are choosing can join the system.

Since the show: news for offices and venues

Two later announcements matter more to businesses than to homes. On 18 September 2026 Crestron published the first of three articles on practical AI, arguing that AI features only work when the cameras, microphones and speakers in the room are good enough; our post on AI for meeting rooms covers it. On 6 October 2026 Crestron announced the DM NVX 370 Series, which introduces what its press release calls "the first silicon chipset designed in-house by Crestron", and says the new units are available now. Our post on the DM NVX 370 explains what that changes for meeting rooms and venues.

What you need to get it

  • A current processor. Crestron Home 4.11 and later, which Configure Pro and the newer features depend on, runs on the CP4-R (Version 2), MC4-R (Version 2) and DIN-AP4-R. Crestron's manual says 4.07 was the final feature update for Version 1 CP4-R and MC4-R hardware.
  • The 4.12 update. Multiview, the TSW-1580 and the new DIN modules are supported from Crestron Home OS 4.12.
  • The right hardware at the screen. Multiview is built on DM-NVX-384 or DM-NVX-385 hardware, and the 15 inch touch screen needs a PoE+ network port.
  • A visit from a Crestron installer. Updates, new modules and new screens are set up in Configure Pro, which is made for installers.

The announcements and reports above give no UK prices, and availability changes, so ask us what can be supplied for your project. For budgets, see our guide to smart home costs.

What it means for your London home or office

  1. Now. If you own a Crestron Home system, find out which processor and OS version it has. That one answer tells you which of these features are open to you.
  2. Before the end of the year. If you are at design stage, allow a PoE+ network point wherever a large touch screen might go, hold the lighting panel layout open until Crestron publishes the details of the new modules, and look at the new shade fabrics before ordering blinds.
  3. Early 2027. Watch for the AI assisted mode in Configure Pro and, if you run meeting rooms, for the remaining two parts of Crestron's AI series.

As a Crestron installer in London we design, install and support Crestron systems for homes and offices, from lighting control and motorised blinds to home cinema and meeting rooms. Systems already installed are looked after through 1Install Care.

Questions we are often asked

When and where was CEDIA Expo 2026?

It ran from 1 to 4 September 2026 in Denver, in the United States.

Has everything Crestron previewed at the show been released?

No. Configure Pro and Multiview are out and the TSW-1580 has been presented, while Residential Systems listed the DIN modules as expected in October 2026 and the shade fabrics in November 2026.

Will my existing Crestron Home system get these features?

It depends on the processor: Crestron Home 4.11 and later runs on the CP4-R (Version 2), MC4-R (Version 2) and DIN-AP4-R, and Version 1 hardware had its final feature update at 4.07.

Can I buy the new products in the UK yet?

The sources we have read give no UK prices or dates, so ask us and we will check what can be supplied for your project.
