What affects the price
- How many rooms get lighting control, music, TV and blinds
- Whether the house is being built or renovated: cabling at first fix costs far less than adding it later
- The system: Control4, Crestron, Lutron or Rako
- Extras such as a home cinema, garden audio, whole home Wi-Fi and security
Typical starting points
- A single room of lighting control or multi-room audio: the easiest way to start, and it can grow later
- Ground floor living areas: lighting scenes, music and blinds in kitchen, living and dining spaces
- Whole house: lighting, blinds, heating, music, TV, cameras and gate on one system, often with a cinema or media room
Wireless systems keep costs down in finished homes; wired systems are best value in new builds and major renovations.
Visits and support
Engineer visits, consultations, site surveys and call outs are charged at £75 per hour plus VAT, with a minimum booking of 4 hours (£300 plus VAT). Ongoing support is available with 1Install Care.
Support after installation
Every system can be covered by 1Install Care, with remote monitoring and planned maintenance, and everything is documented in your client portal.

Is a smart home worth it?
For most clients the everyday benefits are lighting that looks after itself, music everywhere and a house that is easy to secure and heat. Planned at build stage it adds far less than people expect.
Can I start small and add more later?
Yes. Control4, Crestron, Lutron and Rako all grow room by room, so you can start with one area and extend it.
