Biamp says the enhanced Biamp LVH-900 fully steerable venue horn, sold under the Community name, is now available in October 2026 as new indoor models LVH-906B, LVH-906W, LVH-906C, LVH-909B, LVH-909W and LVH-909C, with matching outdoor versions. For London churches, theatres, school halls and arenas, the update brings simpler ordering without the old AS and AP suffixes, one wiring scheme for every cabinet and an enhanced VenuePolar design plugin for EASE Focus 3.

- Biamp says the updated LVH-900 is now available, as of October 2026, and was engineered for faster, more streamlined installation.
- The "AS" and "AP" suffixes are no longer required when ordering, and Biamp says one cabinet type now serves every array, from one cabinet up to multi-cabinet systems.
- Every cabinet uses the same wiring for either 6-channel or 9-channel steering, and Biamp states that no external junction box is needed.
- A slide jumper on the LF1/F2 input panel moves a cabinet between 9-channel and 6-channel operation without rewiring.
- Biamp discontinued the earlier AS and AP models on 7 August 2026 and says it will keep giving technical support and honour warranty commitments on them.
What Biamp announced for the LVH-900 in October 2026
The news comes from Biamp's October 2026 latest news announcement, headed "The updated LVH-900 is now available". The LVH-900 is a point source horn whose coverage is steered electronically rather than fixed by the shape of the box. Biamp's pitch is that it gives integrators precise, custom coverage shaped to the exact geometry of a venue, and the October release is about making that easier to order, wire and hang. In Biamp's own words: "Now it's even easier to put to work."
The announcement groups the changes under three headings.
A streamlined product line. Until August, an LVH-900 order carried an AS or AP suffix depending on how the cabinet would be used. Those suffixes have gone. Biamp says a single cabinet type now covers every array size, so the same part number works whether a room needs one horn or several.
Smarter hardware. Biamp lists three hardware changes. All cabinets share one wiring scheme for 6-channel standard resolution or 9-channel high resolution steering, with no external junction box. A slide jumper on the LF1/F2 input panel selects 9 channels for maximum resolution or 6 channels, which Biamp describes as the cost optimised option, and it does so without rewiring. And an off centre input panel plus an arrow on the cabinet give riggers a clear "TOP" reference, which Biamp says prevents a cabinet being hung upside down.
The enhanced VenuePolar plugin. Designers working in EASE Focus 3 can now create fully custom asymmetric coverage. According to Biamp, the plugin works out cabinet count, splay and aiming, then generates speaker files for Biamp ALC amplifiers. If a design needs more level, finer steering or control below 200 Hz, Biamp's answer is simply to add cabinets.
The new Biamp LVH-900 model numbers
At the time of writing, Biamp lists fourteen part numbers. The 906 and 909 are the two sizes; the letters after them give the finish, and "WR" marks the outdoor versions.
| Finish | LVH-906 indoor | LVH-909 indoor | LVH-906 outdoor | LVH-909 outdoor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Black | LVH-906B | LVH-909B | LVH-906WRB | LVH-909WRB |
| White | LVH-906W | LVH-909W | LVH-906WRW | LVH-909WRW |
| Grey | Not listed | Not listed | LVH-906WRG | LVH-909WRG |
| Custom colour | LVH-906C | LVH-909C | LVH-906WRC | LVH-909WRC |
Biamp's August end of life notice maps each old code to a new one. For example, LVH-906/ASB and LVH-906/APB both become LVH-906B, and LVH-909WR/ASG becomes LVH-909WRG. The notice lists no replacement for the LVH-900ASPTP. Biamp's data sheet for the earlier models gives the LVH-906 60 degrees and the LVH-909 90 degrees of fixed horizontal dispersion; check the current data sheet for the new cabinets before you design around those figures.
Who the change affects in London
Biamp positions the LVH-900 for large spaces: houses of worship, performing arts venues, arenas and outdoor sports grounds. Across London that covers parish churches and large independent congregations, concert and conference halls, school and university assembly spaces and stadium concourses. Four groups should take note.
Consultants and specifiers. Drawings and schedules written before August may still carry AS or AP codes. Those now need updating to the new part numbers.
Venue and estates teams. If a refurbishment is at tender stage, the simpler range should make the equipment list shorter and easier to check. Our education AV page covers the wider picture for school and college halls.
Owners of existing AS and AP cabinets. Nothing stops working. Biamp says it stands by the earlier models and will honour warranty commitments during the warranty period that began on the original purchase date.
Riggers and installers. The orientation cue and single wiring scheme are aimed squarely at the day of installation, when time on a lift or scaffold is limited.
What to plan if you are specifying or extending a system
Use the new codes on new projects. Ask for the current part numbers in any quotation, and confirm the finish early, since custom colour versions have their own codes.
Ask before mixing old and new. Biamp's notice says the new models have revised cabinets and input panels to support the new steering features. If you plan to add cabinets to an existing AS or AP array, ask your designer or Biamp how the two will work together before ordering.
Decide on 6 or 9 channels. The jumper means a cabinet can be switched later without rewiring, but the amplifier rack still has to be sized for the channel count you choose.
Keep warranty records. Because support on older cabinets runs from the original purchase date, keep invoices and serial numbers somewhere the venue can find them. Our maintenance and support page explains how we look after systems once they are in.

How it fits a London building
Many of the capital's large rooms were never designed for sound: Victorian churches with tall, hard naves, converted warehouses used as event spaces, and school halls that double as theatres and exam rooms. Biamp says the LVH-900 keeps the architecturally friendly footprint, output and pattern control it is known for, and the ability to shape coverage to an unusual room is the point of a steerable horn.
We covered one example earlier this year in our post on a church audio project in a former casino, where Biamp's case study describes LVH-906/APB and LVH-909/APB horns designed with VenuePolar. Under the new range those would be ordered as LVH-906B and LVH-909B. For spoken word in teaching spaces, our article on voice reinforcement in lecture theatres is worth reading alongside this one, and anyone running Tesira processing should also see our note on Tesira firmware 5.7.1.

Questions we are often asked
Is the new Biamp LVH-900 available now?
Yes. Biamp said in October 2026 that the updated LVH-900 is now available. Lead times are not given, so check with your supplier at the time of ordering.
Do I still need to choose AS or AP when ordering an LVH-900?
No. Biamp says the AS and AP suffixes are no longer required, and one cabinet type now serves every array size.
What happens to the warranty on my older LVH-900 cabinets?
It continues. Biamp says it will provide technical support and honour warranty commitments during the warranty period that began on the initial purchase date.
What is the difference between 6-channel and 9-channel mode?
Resolution. Biamp describes 9 channels as maximum resolution steering and 6 channels as the cost optimised setting, selected with a slide jumper on the input panel without rewiring.
Does the LVH-900 need a junction box?
No. Biamp states that every cabinet uses the same wiring and no external junction box is required.
Which software designs LVH-900 coverage?
VenuePolar for EASE Focus 3. Biamp says it calculates cabinet count, splay and aiming and generates speaker files for Biamp ALC amplifiers.
