Zoom Rooms Installation for London Offices: Two Screens and One Video Bar

Zoom Rooms installation: twin screens on grey acoustic fabric, the Zoom logo on both and Tap Controller to Start on the left one, with the video bar underneath

The last minutes of a Zoom Rooms installation are the satisfying part: the screens identify themselves, the software takes over and the room is ready for its first call. The two photos here were taken less than two minutes apart in February 2023, in a meeting room with two wall displays and a video bar.

Screen 1 and screen 2

In the first photo each display shows a large number, 1 on the left and 2 on the right. Numbering the screens like this makes it obvious which is which during setup. Less than two minutes later both screens show the Zoom logo, and the left one asks people to tap the controller to start.

What makes it a Zoom Room

The hardware is simple to list: screens, a camera, microphones and speakers, a device running Zoom Rooms and a controller anyone can use. Here the video bar fixed beneath the displays covers the camera, the microphones and the speakers in one unit, and because it sits right under the screens, people look roughly towards the camera when they look at the faces on the call.

Planning a Zoom Rooms installation in London

  1. Count the seats and decide on one screen or two; two lets faces and slides share the wall.
  2. Put the video bar directly above or below the screens.
  3. Choose how the room starts: a touch controller on the table is the usual answer.
  4. Check the network and the Zoom Rooms licence before the installation day.

Zoom sets out the platform on its Zoom Rooms page. Our pages on video conferencing, meeting rooms and flat panel displays cover the hardware choices.
