Neat's Board 32, Pad Pro and Pad Generation 2 have gained Microsoft Teams certification, Installation International reported on 29 September 2026, which widens the Neat Teams certified range to cover focus rooms, room controllers and booking panels. For a buyer it means these devices can be specified for a Teams estate under Microsoft's certified device programme, although Microsoft's own published lists are still worth checking before you place an order.
What was announced
According to Installation International, Neat has secured Microsoft Teams certification for three devices: the Neat Board 32, the Neat Pad Pro and the Neat Pad Generation 2. AV Interactive (avinteractive.com) carried the story on 29 September 2026 under the headline "Three Neat devices achieve Microsoft Teams certification".
The report says the certification follows Neat's move onto the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform, usually shortened to MDEP. It describes MDEP as Microsoft's Android based platform for enterprise workspace devices, and says it provides the security, device management and accessibility framework that sits underneath the certified products.
Tormod Ree, chief product and engineering officer at Neat, is quoted calling the certification "a win for our shared customers". The report mentions neither pricing nor availability.
The three devices at a glance
The specifications below are the ones Neat publishes on its own product pages at the time of writing.
| Device | What it is | Screen | Power and network | Mounting |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Neat Board 32 | All in one touchscreen with camera, microphones and speakers | 32 inch multi touch, 3840 × 2160 | Mains power cord supplied; Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E. Neat lists no Power over Ethernet | Table stand included; 10 × 10 cm VESA interface included |
| Neat Pad Pro | Meeting room controller or scheduling display | 10.1 inch touch, 1920 × 1200 | Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af); 2.5 Gbps Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E | Table, wall, glass or side mounting |
| Neat Pad Generation 2 | Meeting controller or scheduling display on Neat's P2 platform | 8 inch touch, 1280 × 800 | Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af); 1 Gbps Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6 | Table stand, wall, glass or side kits |
Installation International says the Pad Generation 2 keeps the form factor and core functions of the original Neat Pad while adding improved performance, reliability and longer term platform compatibility.
What Neat Teams certified means when you are buying
Microsoft says its Teams devices certification programme exists so that devices meet a high standard, with higher performance targets and quality metrics across the whole Teams experience: audio, video and user interface. A certified device appears on Microsoft's published lists with the firmware and Android version it was certified on and a certification end date.
That end date matters for anyone budgeting a room over several years. Microsoft states that after a certification expires it is committed to supporting the latest version of the Teams devices applications on that device for a further two years, while keeping the discretion to change the policy if it needs to.
We read Microsoft's lists while writing this. On the Teams Rooms on Android certified devices page, in the version dated 27 July 2026, the Neat Pad Pro appears as a touch console on Android 15 with a certification end date of 15 October 2030. The Board 32 and the Pad Generation 2 were not yet shown on that version of the page, and the Teams panels list we read showed a single Neat entry, the Neat Pad Panel (model nf19a1). Neat's own Microsoft page states that Neat devices are certified for Microsoft Teams and shows the Board 32, Pad Pro and Pad in the range, with the Board 32 marked as coming soon.
Published lists can lag behind an announcement, so check Microsoft's page for the exact model, role and Android version on the day you order.
Where a 32 inch all in one fits in a London office
Neat describes the Board 32 as an all in one touchscreen for focus spaces and desks, and names huddle rooms, phone booths and hot desking zones as places for it. Its page lists a 4K camera with a 140 degree horizontal field of view and automatic people framing, four beamforming microphones and a two way loudspeaker system.
From there, these are our suggestions for where a screen of this size is worth considering:
- Focus rooms and booths for one or two people, where a full video bar and a large display would be out of proportion.
- A manager's or head teacher's office, where it can sit on the desk on its stand and double as a desktop display.
- Hot desk areas, where a shared screen lets people take a Teams call without hunting for a room.
Anything larger than that calls for a larger screen and a different camera and microphone layout. Our meeting rooms page and video conferencing page cover those rooms, and schools can start from our education page.
A Pad as room controller and as booking panel
Neat presents both Pads in two roles. On the table, a Pad is the controller: it is where people start and manage the meeting. Outside the door, the same hardware works as a scheduling display that shows whether the room is free and lets someone book it. Both models have side LED indicators according to Neat, so the room status can be read from along a corridor.
Because Neat specifies Power over Ethernet for both Pads, one network cable carries power and data. That keeps a table tidy and suits a door panel on a glass partition, provided the cable route is planned early.
What to check before ordering
- Certification status. Confirm the model, its role (Teams Rooms device, touch console or panel) and the Android version on Microsoft's list.
- Licences. Microsoft says a device used as a shared meeting device requires a Teams Rooms licence, offered as Teams Rooms Basic or Teams Rooms Pro, that enterprise per user Microsoft 365 suite licences are not authorised on such devices, and that an organisation can assign up to 25 Basic licences. Microsoft also says Basic licences cover Teams Rooms systems only and not Teams panels, whereas Pro licences cover both.
- Network. A wired port for each device, and a PoE switch port or injector meeting IEEE 802.3af for each Pad.
- Power. A mains socket within reach of the Board 32, since Neat lists a power cord and no PoE for it.
- Mounting. When we read Neat's page, the Board 32 wall mount, adaptive table stand and adaptive table clamp were marked as coming soon, with the table stand and a VESA interface listed as included. Check what is available before promising a wall mounted finish.

Questions we are often asked
Which Neat devices have just been certified for Microsoft Teams?
Installation International reports that the Neat Board 32, Neat Pad Pro and Neat Pad Generation 2 have secured Microsoft Teams certification.
Can the Neat Board 32 run from Power over Ethernet?
Neat's product page does not list Power over Ethernet for the Board 32; it lists a power cord in the box, so plan a mains socket. The Pad Pro and Pad Generation 2 are different: Neat specifies IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet for both.
Do we need a Teams Rooms licence for each device?
Microsoft says Teams Rooms devices should only be assigned a Teams Rooms Basic or Teams Rooms Pro licence, and that Basic licences cannot be used for Teams panels. How many licences a particular room needs depends on how the devices are set up, so confirm it with your Microsoft licensing provider before ordering.
How much do the new Neat devices cost?
The announcement we read gives no pricing or availability, so we have not published a price here. Contact us with your room list and we will put together a quotation for the whole installation.
